Amazing 4th of July Activities in Western Idaho and Beyond

America! Fireworks! Grilling and barbecue! The Fourth of July is going to be amazing this year, after the last year we’ve gone through. Many cities are throwing big celebrations across Idaho, and you should take part!

Your Local Fireworks Show

There are bigger shows in Caldwell, Boise and Hailey, but you can expect smaller ones everywhere. You might even have a handful of people in your own neighborhood putting on quite a display.

If you’re looking to travel for the fourth of July, Idaho Falls, Coeur d’Alene and McCall all have amazing fireworks shows every year. Plus, a little vacation over the long weekend can’t hurt too!

Get Rowdy at the Rodeo

If you’re looking for the best rodeo during the fourth of July, there’s Western Idaho’s oldest rodeo at Grangeville. It’s a very large event for the whole town going from July 1st through the 4th. There’s a parade, many competitions, and plenty of delicious food!

Eating the Best Foods Around

man grilling some meatThe fourth of July is a perfect excuse to eat anything and everything you want. Barbecue, fried chicken, potato salad and more are all staples of the classic fourth of July experience. But there is so much more waiting for you!

Check out some local restaurants for a quick lunch between activities or get some takeout from them before the fireworks. It’s a great chance to try someplace new and support your local community. What’s more American than that?

If you want to eat at a local restaurant and earn double Rewards! points, check out Pioneer Buy Local program. Anytime you shop with a registered partner using your Pioneer credit card, you earn two points per dollar spent instead of one.

Spend the Fourth in the Woods

If you don’t care for crowds and instead want some peace and quiet, the woods are calling your name. Camping, a warm fire, maybe some fishing and hiking are all great ways to celebrate the fourth. Just be careful with any fireworks you bring with you.

Idaho is filled with amazing camping everywhere. You go head up north to McCall if you want some civilization during your trip, or head out to the deep woods for total isolation.

If you don’t care for tent camping, consider renting or buying an RV, like a camp trailer or a motorhome. Pioneer could help you find just what you need with a RV loan.

Adventure, Amusement and Action

If running isn’t your jam, you could check out local attractions with physical movement like Meridian’s JumpTime or a local rock climbing gym. You could even hit up Wahooz for some family fun or Roaring Springs to cool off from the July heat.

Looking for even more action? Head down to Utah and visit Lagoon for roller coasters and thrill rides sure to satisfy your adrenaline needs. Plus, Pioneer members get discounts on tickets to Wahooz, Roaring Springs, and Lagoon!
