Pioneer Federal Credit Union is the first financial institution in Idaho to introduce the Personal Teller Machine (PTM). The implementation of PTMs allows our tellers to serve our members with more efficiency, completing transactions through a live video feed. This has given us the ability to offer extended hours to serve our members.
Using a PTM is easy! Simply touch the screen to begin and let our Video Financial Solution Specialists take care of the rest!
Below are some frequently asked questions about our PTMs.
A Personal Teller Machine offers an entirely new banking experience. A PTM looks like an ATM, the difference is that you have a real time, face-to-face conversation with a Pioneer FCU Financial Solutions Specialist at the machine. Two way video feed allows a private conversation with a Pioneer Financial Solutions Specialist. You have the ability to conduct the same transactions you would with any Financial Solutions Specialist at our other branches.
Yes! Anyone can make a deposit into a PFCU member's account through a PTM. Secure account information (such as the account balance) will not be shared with anyone other than the account holder.
Yes! Our employees can take loan payments through the machine.
Yes, it is possible to make a payment with a credit or debit card from another financial institution. However, there is a fee for this transaction. We suggest withdrawing cash using the ATM function and making a cash payment.
At this time, we are unable to complete transactions for those who are not members of Pioneer Federal Credit Union. We are working to make this available, and we'll update you when that time comes.
Unfortunately, coins cannot be moved through the PTMs. For coin transactions, please use the coin machine or see an employee inside the branch.
If you are using the Personal Teller Machine for ATM functions, simply insert your card into the green slot on the right side of the machine. If you would like to speak to an employee, touch the screen to begin your transaction.
With a Personal Teller Machine you will be able to interact face-to-face, live with a PFCU employee, not a machine. The PFCU employee can guide you through every step of your transaction and answer questions about your accounts.
PFCU introduced PTMs in order to offer "WOW" service for extended hours at each of our PTM locations. No matter which PTM members use, they will be helped by the same smiling, fun team members, just like visitng in your favorite branch!

Our Personal Teller Machines cannot give paper statements, cashier's checks, or handle loose change. Any of our Financial Solutions Specialists in the branches will be happy to assist you with these transactions.
Yes, all PTM machines have ATM capabilities 24/7. Just insert your Pioneer debit or credit card to get started. Please note that the machines currently do not take deposits in ATM mode. We are working to make this available and will let you know when it happens.
If there is an issue with your transaction with a personal teller and the branch is closed, please let the teller know and we will follow procedures for fixing the issue. If you are using the machine as an ATM and an error occurs, please visit the branch the next business day to find a resolution. No, absolutely not! Using a Personal Teller Machine is the same as going inside one of our branches. We look forward to seeing you each time you visit and we don't think there should be fees for that.
Yes, you and the Personal Teller can see and hear each other using a video camera with a built in speaker. Your conversation is just as private as if you were talking to a teller in the branch.
Our members who are hearing impaired can use the touch screen keyboard to type in their desired transaction. Just look for the gray keyboard button in the lower, center of the screen.
Yes. All Personal Tellers are PFCU employees working in our Member Service Center in Mountain Home, ID.
Because our network of Personal Teller Machines is growing, our PTM team is growing as well. The PTM employees are all in one location. This has freed up additional employees inside the branches to provide more "WOW" service to our members, which has helped lower wait time and provide faster service.
Yes! Unlike an ATM, the Video Financial Solution Specialists can give you money in increments of $1, $5, $20 and $100 bills. If you use the PTM as an ATM, the money given will provide the least amount of bills possible. For example, if you request $100 through an ATM transaction using your debit card, it will give you a $100 bill.
No, your account will be updated in real time just as it would inside the branch. If you are unsure about the availability of your funds, just ask your Personal Teller during the transaction. To show your debit card or ID to the teller you are working with, simply place your card face down on the glass with the black, plastic casing located to the left of the keypad. If you are using the machine as an ATM, insert your card in the green slot on the right side of the machine.
Most mid-size trucks and SUVs will fit in the PTM drive-up. If you have a larger pickup truck or SUV, we recommend pulling in the driver's side mirror and pulling as close to the PTM as possible to avoid hitting the back of your mirror on either side of your vehicle.
