Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you upgrading the checking accounts?
This has been a commonly requested upgrade by Pioneer members that allow us to offer more benefits with less restrictions.
What is Loyalty Savings?
Loyalty Savings is an account offered to thank our loyal members who are actively participating in Pioneer products. This account offers a 3% Annual Percentage Yield* (APY), one of the highest yield accounts at Pioneer.
While you cannot transfer funds into the Loyalty Savings account yourself, you earn funds through your enrollment in these Pioneer products:
- The ChangeForward Account, which rounds up Pioneer debit card purchases to the next dollar and deposits the change into the Loyalty Savings Account
- Earning dividends through Reward U and WOW Checking Accounts
- Earning dividends on Youth Savings Account
You can withdraw funds from the Loyalty Savings Account at any time.
Do I need to change my account?
Your current checking account will transition to the latest version automatically in August 2022. If you want to switch to a different checking account, you can do so by contacting Pioneer through the myPioneer Personal Assistant video chat, visiting a Pioneer branch, or calling us at (208) 587-3304.
Will I need a new debit card or checks?
No, your current debit card and checks will work the same after the transition.
Can I change checking accounts after the transition if I don't like the one I was moved into?
Yes, after the transition you can swap checking accounts as long as you qualify for the new account.
Will Loyalty Savings replace my current savings account?
No, you will still have your same savings account. Loyalty Savings is an extra account that collects dividends from other accounts and builds those funds with a higher interest rate.
What fees are associated with the accounts?
Reward U Checking and WOW Cash Back Checking have associated fees, while our Classic Checking has no fees. The reward checking accounts have a required $1.99 fee for ID Theft Protection.
Which checking account still earn Rewards points?
WOW Cash Back Checking and Classic Checking accounts will not earn rewards points on purchases using a debit card. The Reward U Checking account will still earn points. If you currently have rewards points from your WOW Checking or Preferred Checking accounts, you will have five years to spend those points through the rewards site from the time of earning each point.
